I have a mate. His name is Warren. He is a music tourist. He was born and for a time lived in Swaziland in the middle of South Africa, but went to school in London. He travels around the globe - mostly to London - to see his fave bands, Gary Newman, OMD (which my wife and I also sojourned to see), John Foxx, Underworld, Kraftwerk and many others. He is kind of my hero - but not really. He is also kind of like a rubbish version of Clive Owen which is no bad thing to be. I consider myself a rubbish version of Jarvis Cocker - which isn’t so great because he himself is already a rubbish version of David Sylvian who in turn is a rubbish Bryan Ferry. You do the maths. Anyway, Warren is soon off to London to see Ultravox get back together. If you don’t know Ultravox you are missing something. Synth Pop gods who never hit in the States back in the 80s, but tore up the UK and Europe to be sure.
