ALL OR NOTHING by Au Revoir Simone

It is well established that I am a mildly rabid ARS fan (I am not foaming at the mouth or living in fear of water just yet…). Here is the Jonathan Dortch video for All Or Nothing that they shot in the spring or early summer I believe. It is a perfectly ARS-y tableau of hopeful melancholy infused with adolescent wonder. This sticks right to the fine script they have been refining since their EP, Verses of Comfort, Assurance & Salvation, on their style of indie, unabashedly feminine, electro-folk that just has you dreamily swaying like you took a few too many Tylenol-3s with codeine. It is awesomely brilliant and slyly engaging. Nine minutes to 3 am, and I have just finished watching it for the 3rd time. It is quiet and everything is eerily muffled by the slow tip-tapping of a gentle Autumn rain and the rustled breathing of my 17 month old son just behind the door over my shoulder- and I think I am going to watch it again before I go to bed.
