Yeah Yeah Hell Fuckin' Yeahs

So I have been listening to the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs effort, It’s Blitz! It’s genius. Really. I’m not hyperbolizing. Skeleton is an amazing song. I cannot stop listening to it. It is beautiful and haunting and epic. They did a whole electro redux approach on this, and I am a sucker for synth-based epic pop with a melancholy/beautiful patina to it. This whole album just had me on a string. Nearly perfect.

I did not see their secret show on Easter Sunday which really blows, and would certainly have been the way to truly celebrate Easter (which is just a vicious little lie concocted to eat up all the pagan Spring rituals and co-opt them for Jesus. Waste of fucking time - sorry, got myself sidetracked by a non-existent but super destructive deity. Happens all the time to me. How can something that isn’t real waste so much of my time? Well, come to think of it, D&D did when I was a teenager…anyways…) My friend was on the list but didn’t get a plus one. I just assumed it would be a jam-packed mob scene, but apparently they had tix at the door. Fuck me! Anyway, I would highly recommend you actually buy this one so the YYYs get your cash. And I further recommend you get the Deluxe Edition from iTunes with the acoustic versions on it. As much as I love a good Nord Lead or an old analogue bassline on a korg Polysix (and I do love those things dearly), the acoustic versions may be even better that the electro 80s dancefest versions.

Get it! Love it. Live it. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It’s Blitz!
